WWRD? (The Friday Ficks S6 E30)
Some people leave memories. Others leave momentum.
Ryan T. Lee was only 19 years old when he passed away in 2011. By every measure, he had an extraordinary future ahead of him - a collegiate golfer, a gifted athlete, a loyal friend, and someone who made people feel seen.
But perhaps his greatest gift could not be measured by trophies or scorecards. Ryan genuinely celebrated the success of others.
Fifteen years later, Ryan is still changing lives.
Not because people refuse to let go. Because they refuse to let his example fade.
After Ryan's death, his parents, Dan and Theresa, and his sister Amanda asked a question that became a way of life: What would Ryan do?
The answer became the mission of the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Foundation. Create smiles. Inspire people. Help others reach their goals and realize their dreams.
Those aren't simply words on a website. They have become scholarships awarded, families helped, food distributed, blood donated, dreams funded, and hope restored. To date, the Foundation has invested more than $800,000 in individuals and organizations, proof that one life, lived well, can echo for generations.
Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote “Nothing is ever wholly lost. That which is excellent remains forever a part of this universe.”
Ryan's excellence remains.
Not simply in the memories of those who loved him, but in every act of generosity his life continues to inspire.
So today, when you have the chance to encourage someone, lend a hand, celebrate another person’s success or change a life, even in a small way, ask yourself one simple question:
WWRD? What would Ryan do?
Because some people leave memories. Others leave momentum.
Own the day. Own the weekend.
